none other than an urban planner could have uttered such a comment. we collectively refer to such terms as planning jargon word vomit, but the sentiment is spot on. detroit, at the end of the day, is the city of the car. this unfortunate realization is made most apparent during game days when downtown detroit becomes a glorified parking lot for the suburban sports enthusiasts. sure, these games also bring with them a sense of energy, buzz, one could even say urban density…but let’s not forget about the cars.
