People call Detroit a blank canvas. The Heidelberg Project took it quite literally. They took a few blocks that otherwise would’ve gone the way of just another one of those lost neighborhoods here and they painted their feelings onto the urban landscape. I wish these few photos could do this place justice, this place that definitely merits at least a repeat trip. But this is one of those quintessential Detroit attractions for a reason. It’s about the DOER. the CREATIVE. the CITY. And now on its 26th year, it’s clearly got the staying power.
Fun Fact: Do you hear about crime in these here few blocks? Not at all. http://www.heidelberg.org/
