now that it’s past thanksgiving, it seems appropriate to share a glimpse of holiday detroit, even if the decorations and the festivities began shortly after halloween. if i were to describe the transformation, i would say it feels rather like retail on steroids…of the holiday variety. bright (and i daresay ostentatious) lights, christmas music at every corner, holiday stores open for business, an ice skating ring in the center of downtown and a tree that came in with its own marching band entourage the day after halloween… while you may read sarcasm in what i have to say, i do appreciate the holiday spirit. i just wanted to focus on the spirit as opposed to the frenzy. and hence, my black and white holiday season set.
